The aim of the article. In light of the growing importance of telemedicine services, which became particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the current rapid expansion of telemedicine as an integral component of modern health care systems, the aim of this article is to analyze the quality of telemedicine services at an international level, to discuss their advantages and limitations, and to evaluate the impact of remote health care services on economic outcomes, data security, and public health education.
Material and methods. In preparing this literature review, scientific sources were searched using the databases PubMed, ScienceDirect, and the specialized search engine Google Scholar. A total of 21 scientific articles published within the last ten years were reviewed and analyzed using a descriptive analysis method.
Results and conclusions. The results of the study showed that telemedicine increases access to healthcare services, reduces treatment and travel costs, and allows for more effective management of chronic diseases. It also contributes to greater efficiency of healthcare systems and improves patient engagement. However, there remain significant challenges related to technological issues, data security, and the lack of physical examination. Telemedicine has great potential to improve public health if digital literacy is strengthened, the legal framework is further developed, and patient trust in this model of care is enhanced.
